LIFE LIFE LAFCU recognizes the importance of educating our children and is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. This program will allow a school to receive funds to make necessary improvements in their school. Examples include: flexible seating options, updated technology devices, equipment upgrades and school projects such as a school garden or sensory room. LAFCU will be awarding one $10,000 grant to a school within Michigan. Applications must be received by May 1, 2026 Submission Rules/Guidelines K-12 schools within the state of Michigan are invited to submit a grant application for the LAFCU Innovation for Education Grant. Schools must record a short video (3-5 minutes) sharing what their school building would do with the funds and how the funds would positively impact their students. Applications can be submitted by teachers, administrators, PTO/PTA's, or councils and clubs. If students are featured, please acquire parent permission as the winning video could be shared publicly. Please upload your video to Youtube, Vimeo, Dropbox, or another sharing platform and provide the link below. Submission Date January 1 - May 1, 2026 Winner The winning school will be selected on May 15, 2026. Awarding of the Funds Funds will be distributed directly to the school district and a check presentation will be held with school and LAFCU representatives. By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of LAFCU, which shall be final and binding; and to the use of their names and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. Participation and eligibility is open to legal residents of Michigan, must be a teacher or administrator during the 2025-2026 school year, and must be eighteen (18) years or older. Officers, directors, and employees of LAFCU; and their immediate families are not eligible.
