Applicable to both Online Banking and Mobile Banking:


1. Review your financial statements and monitor your transactions. Develop the a good habit of monitoring your financial account(e.g. credit union, credit card, etc.) weekly through online, mobile, voice banking or the ATM.

2. Never leave your computer, tablet, or mobile phone unattended when using any Online Banking, Mobile Banking, or other financial services.

3. After you have completed a Internet or Mobile Banking session, it is good practice to log off so that your session is disconnected.

4. It is good practice to lock your computer or mobile device whenever you plan to leave it unattended.

5. Never use public information or common names or phrases, birth dates, social security numbers, etc. to create your password. Also, never reveal your password to anyone.

6. Change your passwords frequently. Establish a routine where you change your password to reduce the risk of a compromised account.

7. Be aware of the information you post on social networking sites. Don't accept friend requests from unverified parties. Use privacy settings on social networking sites to control who is able to access your personal information.

8. Your Online Banking and Mobile Banking service has alerts available for your use,. Be sure to take advantage of these alerts. Once you setup the alerts you need, you will be notified of activity on your accounts.

9. Checks and financial information all have your private information on them. Request electronic statements (e-Statements) and use online Bill Pay whenever possible to reduce the paper trail and the risk of your account information being compromised.

10. Be aware of your surroundings when logging into your Online Banking and Mobile Banking Account(s).

11. Never post any personal information about your accounts such as account numbers, passwords, balances, etc. to anyone on social media (including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)

Mobile Devices (Including mobile phone and tablets):

1. Ensure that you install software that can remotely wipe the device should it get lost or stolen.

2. If you suspect that your device is lost or stolen, notify your mobile carrier and suspend your service.

3. Install mobile software only from Google Play Store or Apple App store.

4. If you have installed the Fingerprint Authentication (which is available on select phone models) it gives you an extra layer of protection for you and your account.

5. If you purchased or received a used or refurbished device, be sure to "wipe or factory reset it to be certain that the device is free of any malware or viruses that steal your information.

6. Turn off wireless device services such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS when they are not being used.

7. Use screen locks and passcodes to protect your information.

8. Keep your device up-to-date with the latest operating system patches and releases from your mobile network provider.

9. Never store your sign on, password, and answers to your challenge questions on your mobile device.
