There is no fee to enroll in and use Home Banking. However, certain products and services do have a fee to complete, such as placing a stop payment on a check.
Home Banking can be used whether you have one product or several. That means if you only have a savings account, you can still enroll in Home Banking. Of course, the more products you have the more benefit you will receive from Home Banking. You can keep track of your balances, transfer between accounts or between shares (with some exceptions), place stop payments, request a check be sent to your home, view dividends and interest payments, view check images, and much more.
Most transactions and balance updates are reflected on Home Banking as soon as the transaction is performed. For example, any transaction you do at a branch or an ATM will immediately appear in Home Banking. It may take one to three business days for debit card transactions to appear. Checks written will appear as they’re cashed and processed.
Home Banking also provides access to a secure Message Board whereby you can contact LAFCU’s Member Services to discuss your account in a secure environment.
Change Your Password
To change your Home Banking password, access Home Banking and click on Other Options>Change Login Profile. Enter your current password, your new password and re-enter your new password then enter for verification and click Continue. The minimum length for your Home Banking password is 4 characters and the maximum is 20. Passwords are case sensitive and can be any combination of alpha characters, numbers, or special characters.
Changing your Home Banking password will not affect your Direct Dial Teller PIN. They can be totally different or exactly the same, you decide.
Challenge questions are designed to add additional protection by serving as a roadblock to anyone who is not authorized to access your account information. Our Home Banking system recognizes the computer(s) you regularly use and requires an answer to one or more of your challenge questions from anyone who tries to access from a different computer.
Export Account History
Your account history can be exported in the following formats: MS Money OFX, QIF, Quicken Web Connect or Comma Delimited File. Click on History, then Export History and select the format you want.
Your information is encoded using the strongest forms of encryption commercially available for use over the web. That means, even if the information you submit is somehow intercepted by a third party on its way to our servers, it is scrambled and virtually impossible to decode. We recommend taking full advantage of this feature by using a browser that supports 128-bit encryption.
Preventing Unauthorized Access
Your Home Banking session will end after ten (10) minutes of inactivity within Home Banking. You will need to sign on again if this occurs.
"This account has been frozen." You will be locked out of Home Banking after three (3) unsuccessful attempts to sign on without the correct user information.
The "back" button on the browser will not return you to prior pages. You will have to Click on Account Summary or Main Menu to return to a page you have already been on.
The AutoComplete setting provides a drop down of your account number to facilitate the sign on process. To disable AutoComplete so your account number does not appear, do the following:
• From within Internet Explorer, click Tools>Internet Options
• Click Content > AutoComplete
• Uncheck the box next to Usernames and Passwords.
• Click the Clear Passwords button and click OK to Clear All Previously Saved Form Passwords.
• Click OK on the remaining menu boxes.
